We are launching the “Alibi Institute”

This is a way to mentor and fund young journalists to produce assassination stories.

The Alibi Institute came out of a lot of long conversations. We wanted to set up a mechanism that would empower young journalists in Africa. We also wanted to amplify the values and content mission of Alibi Studios so more assassination reporting got done across the continent.

So, this is what we came up with: we are setting up a project that will mentor and fund several African journalists a year so they can each produce a piece of quality, investigative journalism (around an assassination) for their newspaper, website or radio station.

We will give them access to money, mentorship and quality research that they might have missed.

We will then also feature their story on our podcast Killing For Cash and make them a fellow of the project.

We will then keep an eye on how the story develops and do follow-ups if necessary. This will allow Alibi Studios to have a better grip on Africa’s assassination crisis in general.

If you think you’d be suitable for the program, if you have a story or know someone who might then please get in touch.
